Anyone wishing to volunteer in their child's classroom, at a field trip or at a school event must fill out the ECSD Volunteer Form. This is the only form that is required if the individual will be supervising/helping while there is a teacher present.
If anyone wishes to volunteer where a teacher will not be present at all times, a Police Information Check (PIC) and an Intervention Record Check (IRC) will also be required (in addition to the ECSD Volunteer Form).
Police Information checks for volunteers, ages 18 and above, can be obtained free of charge directly from Edmonton Police Services, with a voucher which is provided by ECSD School Operations Services. There is no fee associated with an Intervention Record Check. Once received, they are valid for one year from date of issue.
If you are interested in volunteering at any point in the school year, we highly recommend starting the process as soon as possible as checks can take up to 30 days to receive once submitted. All forms must be completed and submitted to the office before an individual volunteers.
To initiate the process, we ask all parents to fill out the St. Dominic School Volunteer Form linked below. We will be processing requests at the end of the first week of every month. The deadlines for requests throughout the school year are as follows:

- November 7
- December 5
- January 9
- February 6
- March 6
- April 3
